Safety Terms & Rider Declaration

I understand that taking part in this event involves biking on sealed and metal roads, farm and bush tracks some of which are steep and rough, and fording a number of creeks. The hazards involved include, but are not limited to the condition of my bike, falling off my bike on loose metal, at obstacles or on steep descents, of being knocked off the bike by other riders or passing vehicles and of suffering exposure in bad weather conditions. I understand that some of these risks are substantially increased if speed is excessive. In my judgement, I have prepared adequately and have sufficient competence and experience to participate safely in this event.
I agree to wearing a helmet and carrying the required safety equipment for the duration of the event.
I agree to follow the instructions of the organisers / marshals during the event and abide by the event rules.
I hereby consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed necessary in any event of injury, accident or illness during the event.
I accept that the management of Community Adventures the organisers of the Kona Colville Connection / Ground Effect Get on Yer Bike 40km / Jungle Safari 24km rides have taken all reasonable steps to identify and minimise potential dangers. I agree to waive, release and indemnify Community Adventures and their marshals against any liability including death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft and all other foreseeable claims or actions of any kind (including negligence) whatever and however occurring, which I at any time had or have as a result of participating in, or travelling to or from this event. I further agree that if any legal action is taken against the organisers it will be in New Zealand and subject to New Zealand law.
I understand that during the event or related activities I may be photographed or filmed. I agree to allow my photograph, video or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by Community Adventures Limited, their sponsors and or assignees at no cost.
